Dr. Xia Jin is an Associate Professor with the Civil and Environmental Engineering at the Florida International University (FIU). Dr. Jin has over 15 years of professional and academic experience in transportation planning. She is the director of the Travel Behavior and System Modeling lab at FIU. Her research areas include human and freight mobility behavior analysis, travel demand forecasting, emerging mobility options and vehicle technologies, stated preference surveys, the impacts of e-commerce on travel demand, the modeling framework and impact assessment of telecommuting, and freight mobility and safety analysis. She has over 60 journal publications and over 70 conference proceedings. Dr. Jin serves on a committee for the Transportation Research Board of the National Academies: The Travel Survey Methods Committee (AEP35), and the Travel Behavior and Values Committee (AEP30). Dr. Jin holds a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering and Master of Urban Planning and Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee. She is also a professionally certified planner with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP).
