The Civil and Environmental Engineering department at FIU welcomes students interested in transferring from other educational institutions.
Students interested in transferring should apply for admission to the university. Online applications can be submitted at admissions.fiu.edu.
Upon acceptance, transfer students should be aware of the following information.
- Transfer students must attend the transfer orientation at the time they become FIU students. Transfer students must meet with their departmental advisor for academic planning and course equivalencies. The departmental advisors for Civil and Environmental Engineering are Joanna Sanabria (firstname.lastname@example.org) and Saradia Lerouge (email@example.com)
- Students transferring from a Florida Public Community College with an AA degree will automatically satisfy the lower-division University Core Curriculum requirements and thus will not need to have their courses evaluated.
- Students transferring from other post-secondary institutions will follow the Course Equivalency procedure (document below) in order to count specific credits toward student’s degree requirements.
