Professor Ton-Lo Wang received his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil/Structural Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in 1979 and 1984, respectively. Dr. Wang has taught at Florida International University (FIU) since 1985. From 1992 to 1993, he served as the Graduate Coordinator in Civil Engineering. Currently, he is a tenured professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Wang specializes in railway and highway bridge vibration, impact, reliability, load distribution, and fatigue damage analyses. He has authored or co-authored more than forty refereed journal papers which include seventeen ASCE/ASME journal papers. He has also authored or co-authored numerous conference papers and technical reports. In addition, he has been the principal investigator of plentiful research projects exceeding $1.3 millions since 1989. Dr. Wang was the recipient of the prestigious FIU Faculty Awards for Excellence in Research both in 1992 and 2000. He also received the FIU Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2003. He is one of a few outstanding research professors who also know how to attract students’ attention and make learning fun and challenging at the College of Engineering.

He is a registered professional engineer in Florida (#39668).
