Erik M. Alcántara, PE, PMP, ENV SP is an infrastructure consultant and leader dedicated to creating sustainable solutions that enhance community resilience. With a strong foundation in civil engineering and expertise in water resources management, he plays a key role at AECOM, where he oversees project delivery, client account management, and strategic planning within the Water Business Line. Erik is passionate about fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and ensuring that projects meet the evolving needs of the communities they serve.
Dedicated to advancing the civil engineering profession, Erik serves as President of the ASCE Miami-Dade Branch, where he supports professional growth, knowledge-sharing, and leadership development among engineers. He also serves as Vice President for the Americas for AECOM’s Hispanic Employee Resource Group, JUNTOS, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion while fostering talent development. Erik holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from INTEC, an M.Eng. in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida, and an Engineering Innovation Graduate Certificate from the University of Florida. He is an alum of the Florida Engineering Leadership Institute (FELI) and a licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, a Project Management Professional, and an Envision Sustainability Professional. As a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Tau Beta Pi, Erik is committed to excellence and strives to inspire and support the next generation of engineers.
