Dat Huynh graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering in 1994. He is a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Public Manager. He began his career with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District Six Construction and completed the FDOT Professional Engineer Training Program. With over 30 years of diverse project experience, his expertise spans Construction, Project Development & Environment studies, Pollution Remediation/Solid Waste Permitting, and Roadway Design. He is deeply committed to public service, dedicated to serving the people of Florida.

Currently, Dat Huynh, P.E., CPM, serves as the FDOT District Six Planning and Environmental Management Administrator.
He oversees planning, project development, and environmental analysis for transportation facilities in Miami-Dade and Monroe counties. His responsibilities include transportation planning, policy planning, transportation statistics, project/concept development, interchange access requests, site-impact reviews, and environmental reviews. He also manages the Strategic Intermodal System and coordinates with intergovernmental and MPO entities. His office leads the Lane Repurposing Review process for the District and collaborates with local governments on comprehensive plan reviews and long-range transportation planning. Additionally, his office supports subsequent phases of production, including Design and Construction. Dat ensures quality performance and compliance with all applicable laws, rules, policies, and procedures governing FDOT operations.
