Non-Degree Programs

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the FIU College of Engineering and Computing is proud to offer a variety of technology transfer and training opportunities for professionals.

CTQP: Training and examinations in concrete, asphalt, aggregate, earthwork, geotechnical, quality control management, and structures and grouting for qualification and certification under the Florida Department of Transportation Construction Training Qualification Program (CTQP).

Maintenance of Traffic (MOT): Training and examinations in intermediate, intermediate refresher, advanced and advanced refresher for qualifications and certification under Florida Department of Transportation MOT program.

FE Review: This team-taught, twelve-week course is offered twice a year in Fall and Spring by the Civil and Environmental Engineering faculty. Registration is open to professionals interested in taking the first step toward their licensure by taking the Fundamentals of Engineering examination.

FIU Paving AcademyThe program is designed to improve Technicians and Operators understanding of paving and enhance their ability to build a high quality road. Further, the program provides hands-on experience in the operation of paving machines.
