On Friday, October 24, 2025, the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at FIU successfully hosted the Second Annual CEE Student Success Celebration, an event dedicated to recognizing the outstanding achievements of CEE students and the student organizations that contribute to the department’s excellence.

Building on the foundation established during last year’s inaugural celebration, this year’s event once again brought together students, faculty, and staff to honor collective accomplishments and highlight the continued growth of the FIU CEE community. The celebration showcased the remarkable dedication, leadership, and professional engagement demonstrated by the students.

Throughout the event, awards were presented to acknowledge exceptional accomplishments in academics, research, leadership, community service, and professional development. Student organizations such as the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), American Association of Venezuelan Engineers (AAVE), Chi Epsilon, Florida Engineering Society (FES), Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), Society of Women Engineers (SWE), Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS), and Florida Water Environment Association were recognized for their impactful contributions, successful events, and ongoing commitment to advancing civil and environmental engineering at FIU.

The department extends its sincere appreciation to everyone who made this event possible. The collaborative efforts in gathering award information, coordinating with student organizations, and encouraging student participation played a pivotal role in the success of this celebration. The department also gratefully acknowledges the CEE Department Advisory Board (DAB) for their continued support and extends special thanks to Mr. Cesar D. Borges for attending the event.
