Academic Pursuits: Wingard is a third-year civil engineering student at FIU. She has been a dynamic presence in the civil engineering program, taking on leadership roles such as serving as the Vice President of the ASCE Student Chapter and leading the concrete canoe team.

Background and Inspiration: Growing up in Venezuela, Wingard witnessed firsthand the challenges posed by inadequate infrastructure and environmental issues. These experiences ignited her passion for creating sustainable and resilient engineering solutions. She credits her single mother, who worked tirelessly to support their family, for instilling in her the values of resilience and perseverance.

Community Engagement: Beyond her academic and leadership roles, Wingard is deeply committed to community service. She has volunteered at food pantries, mentored fellow students, and serves as the president of the American Association of Venezuelan Engineers, advocating for her peers and promoting the engineering profession within the Venezuelan community.

Future Aspirations: Upon graduation, Wingard has secured a position as a project manager with a Florida-based construction firm. She is passionate about developing infrastructure projects that not only fulfill their intended purposes but also address the needs of underserved communities.
