HACU Summit

Ms. Lilian Marrero, our Adjunct Faculty Instructor for Water Resources Engineering is proud to announce two of her students as recipients of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) Ford Motor Company Fund Scholarship. Tahimi Cabrera and Daniel Irigoyen were recipients of the Ford Motor Company Fund Scholarship Award. Students in the class were presented with several options for their class project. One of the options entailed full participation and submittal of a paper to HACU linking Water Resources Engineering and Diversity within the Industry.

The STEM summit was opened to sophomores, juniors and seniors pursuing STEM-related degrees. The one-day summit taught students how to interview with companies, market their resumes and also meet one-on-one with career representatives to be better prepared for the field.

“It was a great opportunity to receive career development advice in a professional setting. Topics covered included resume tips, interview preparation, and the ability to network among other colleagues from other universities in South Florida”, said Daniel Irigoyen.
